Attending the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show? Read this First

The 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is coming up faster than you think (Wednesday, October 31st – Sunday, November 4th) and AERÉ Marine Group will be there! If you plan to attend, there will be plenty of activities for boat enthusiasts as well as family and
friends.

Before you go, we highly recommend visiting the event’s official website (www.flibs.com) to register (if you haven’t). Here’s an at-a-glance breakdown of some essentials before you make the trek to the big event.

Kids Activities

If you’re planning on bringing kids/family to the show, there are a couple of activities that might be of interest. The first is the Blue Wild Watersports and Marine Art Expo, where you will hear speakers on different water sports (paddle boarding, underwater photography, etc.) as well as displays of impressive marine art.

You can also check out the annual Kids’ Fishing Clinic, a free event for kids between the ages of 5 and 16, with a ticket to the boat show. Keep in mind this event only occurs on Saturday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 4th. The Saturday starting times are noon and 2 p.m. while the Sunday starting times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Where to Park

Ah, parking. This is easily the best part of the boat show, which is to say that it can be a pain the stern.

The show organizers have increased parking availability this year; but plan to use the shuttle bus and water taxi service to arrive at your preferred location. As part of your boat show plan, check out this parking map. Ideally, you will know in advance which exhibits you want to attend, in which case you can park and plan your transportation accordingly. Choose wisely and try to get to the show early if you can.

How to Attend

If you haven’t already bought your ticket and/or parking to the boat show, you can do so here. Children’s tickets are available at a discount (children 5 and younger are free with the purchase of an adult ticket). Pets will not be permitted.

If you’re interested in a VIP experience, you can purchase the VIP package for show entry, access to the Windward VIP Club, and Water Taxi. Your VIP package is good for one day.

Things Boaters Should Know

If you’re serious about purchasing a vessel at the event, a VIP package for a day or two might be worth your while. The Windward VIP Club offers some exclusive networking and deal-closing opportunities you might not be afforded otherwise.

The prime-time preview for the show will be Wednesday, October 31st. For an exclusive look at your favorite boats or accessories, you will want to attend starting day one if you can. All other days are open for general admission.
